The Fight Against Cancer Continues: A Report from the 45th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology

The fight against cancer continues, with new compounds acting on known or newly discovered therapeutic targets being introduced each year during the ASCO annual meeting. The fight to obtain that information also continues, with attendees pushing each other to get a better view (or any view at all) of the posters and get hold of a free handout copy, or to reach a seat from which the slides can be seen without too many heads blocking the view. Controlling the risk for cancer can help, and this may involve a number of lifestyle modifications and adaptations that include avoidance of risk factors such as excessive sun exposure, tobacco, chemicals, viruses, pollution, etc. In many instances, this may either help prevent cancer, or improve cancer prognosis. This report focuses on the findings presented in the field of dermatological malignancies. Original references are included to enable the location of abstracts on the congress website.
