A French study developed and validated a standardized tool to assess health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in a cohort of 569 patients with psoriasis. A draft questionnaire was created based on individual interviews of 50 patients by psychologists; 56 items were retained and validated and this became the QualiPso questionnaire. Four subscales from the questionnaire were derived from factor analysis. These accounted for 60% of the common variance and comprised: disturbances of social life, impact on mental health, concern for treatment outcomes and skin symptoms.
