Specific IgA antibodies to tissue transglutaminase (TG2) and to epidermal transglutaminase (TG3) were measured in patients with dermatitis herpetiformis (DH), celiac disease (CD) and controls. Levels of IgA-TG2 antibodies were higher in DH and CD patients compared to controls. IgA-TG2 antibodies were higher in children with CD compared with adults with CD and DH and control subjects. IgA-TG3 antibodies were higher in patients with DH and adults with CD, compared with children with CD and controls. There was a trend towards higher levels in DH patients compared with adult CD patients (Hull, C.M. et al. Br J Dermatol 2008,159[1]: 120-124). --> -->
