A prospective, single-blind study was conducted to evaluate the benefit of applying mineral oil before phototherapy during psoriasis treatment in children. A total of 18 children, aged 5 to 14 years, completed the investigation. All selected patients exhibited skin type IV as well as widespread, symmetrical psoriasis on over 20% body surface area. Treatment involved application of a thin layer of mineral oil on one half of the body, chosen at random, 5 minutes prior to exposure to narrow-band (NB) UV-B light.
