The psoriasis-specific quality of life questionnaire (PQOL-12) was used in patients with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis to determine the impact of psoriasis on quality of life according to the body surface area (BSA) extent of the disease. BSA of 11-20% and >20% were found in 35% and 20% of participants. Mean PQOL-12 scores were 81.3 and 92.8 in BSA groups of 11-20% and >20%, respectively, thus indicating that the impact of psoriasis on quality of life increased with increasing BSA.
