A hygiene program for pediatric atopic dermatitis patients

 
 

A range of products containing mild vegetal surfactants and a sunflower oleodistillate (SOD) were developed for pediatric atopic dermatitis (AD) patients. These comprised a no rinse cleansing water (A), a cleansing cream (B) and a milky bath oil (C) used either during shower or bath without rinsing. Each product was tested in an open study on 100 children (aged 3.6-5.3 years) with light to moderate AD over 3 weeks in France and Spain. Other treatments (emollients/steroids) were not changed and used as needed.
