Psoriasis severity assessed by a novel patient report questionnaire

 
 

The reliability and validity of a single question method, the Patient Report of Extent of Psoriasis Involvement (PREPI), was assessed to determine psoriasis severity in 140 psoriasis patients. A prospective design in consecutive patients was used. The test-retest reliability was assessed by administering the PREPI by telephone and readministering it at an outpatient visit 2-3 days later. Validity was evaluated by comparing the assessment of a dermatologist who was unaware of the patient's PREPI score. Construct validity was assessed by comparing Skindex29 scores to the PREPI.
