Serum levels of thymus and activation-regulated chemokine CCL17 in pediatric atopic dermatitis

 
 

A Japanese study attempted to determine normal levels of the thymus and activation-regulated chemokine (TARC) CCL17 in infancy in nonatopic controls and in those with atopic dermatitis (AD) aged less than 6 years (n = 27) and those 6 years and older (n = 18). CCL17 levels were also correlated with the SCORIng Atopic Dermatitis index (SCORAD). Serum levels of CCL17 were significantly higher in younger than older nonatopic subjects (P < 0.01).
