A Ukrainian study investigated the effects of psychoemotional disturbances on the aggravation of AD and psoriasis in 134 children aged 4-12 years. Sixty children had AD and 74 had psoriasis, and disease duration ranged from 3 months to 8 years. In 63.5% of the children with psoriasis and in 57% of those with AD, disease onset was connected with psychoemotional factors. This finding should be factored in to the treatment and observation of children with psoriasis and AD (Khaitov, V. 16th Congr Eur Acad Dermatol Venereol (EADV) (May 16-20, Vienna) 2007, Abst P1056).
