A Swedish study evaluated the impairment of quality of life (QoL) in childhood eczema determined via a population-based birth cohort. The analysis included 592 children (out of a total of 2,899) who had had eczema for the last 12 months. The Children's Dermatology Life Quality Index (CDLQI) was used to evaluate QoL data. The mean total CDLQI score was 5.18. No differences were seen between male and female patients and no differences between children with eczema and those with eczema with other symptoms, such as asthma.
