A review of facts and controversies relating to malignancy risk in patients with psoriasis, both independent of medication exposure and following specific therapies, has been published. The risk of psoriasis is known to be increased in smokers and those with a high body mass index (BMI), and thus it is not surprising that selected cancers linked to smoking and obesity have also been linked to psoriasis.
