Psychophysical aspects of hidradenitis suppurativa

 
 

A Polish study assessed the influence of hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) on a broad spectrum of psychological factors in 54 patients with HS aged 16-65 years. HS patients showed impairments on a wide variety of instruments designed to assess quality of life (QoL), mood, stigmatization and fatigue, including the Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI), the Beck Depression Inventory-Short Form (BDI-SF), 6-item scale, the Euro QoL 5D (EQ-5D), Functional Assessment of Chronic Illness Therapy-Fatigue scale (FACIT-F) and the Quality of Life Enjoyment and Satisfaction Questionnaire-Short Form (Q-LES-Q-SF).
