The European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) guidelines for primary cutaneous lymphomas (PCLs) were recently published; these supersede those published in 2009. First-line recommendations for primary cutaneous marginal zone lymphoma (PCMZL), solitary/localized types, were local radiotherapy, excision and antibiotics (if Borrelia burgdoferi infection was present). If multifocal PCMZL was present, a "wait and see" approach, local radiotherapy or chlorambucil was indicated. For solitary/localized primary cutaneous follicle center lymphoma (PCFCL), the first-line approach should be rituximab, local radiotherapy and excision and for multifocal PCFCL, a "wait and see", local radiotherapy and i.v. rituximab were recommended.
