A Norwegian review of guidelines for the practical use of methylaminolevulinate- photodynamic therapy (MAL-PDT) in nonmalignant skin cancer was published. Topics included information for patients, pretreatment with keratolytics, treatment of anticoagulated patients, anesthesia before preparation, preparation, abrasion, curettage, debulking, light sources, adverse events, treatment of skin reactions, analgesia, measures for pre-, peri- and post-light exposure and wound management (Christensen, E. et al. JEADV 2010, 24(5): 505).
