A Polish cross-sectional study evaluated the relationship between itch and well-being in 102 patients with psoriasis, 91 of whom had pruritus during an exacerbation. No significant differences were found between disease severity (measured by the Psoriasis Area and Severity Index; PASI) and presence or severity of itch. However, pruritus intensity correlated significantly with patients' quality of life (QoL) as measured by the Health Related QoL tool, the Dermatology Life Quality Index (SLQI), Stigmatization Scale (SS) and Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), feelings of stigmatization, stress 1 month before the psoriasis outbreak and depressive symptoms.
