A retrospective case record study assessed the frequency of cutaneous manifestations of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) such as Crohn's Disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC). The frequency was assessed in relation to age, gender and the activity of underlying diseases. The medical records of 404 IBD patients were examined for manifestations of pyoderma gangrenosum (PG) and erythema nodosum (EN). There was a prevalence rate of 5.9% of cutaneous manifestations in IBD patients. It was higher in CD (56%) than UC (44%) and more frequent in females (52%) than males (48%).
