A 6-month, open-label study assessed the effects of 8% clobetasol-17-propionate in alacquer vehicle with tacalcitol ointment in 15 patients with nail psoriasis. The lacquer was applied nightly during the weekend and tacalcitol ointment under occlusion on the remaining days for 6 months. All patients responded well. The therapeutic effect was rapid and nail alterations and pain were decreased, with the modified Nail Psoriasis Severity Index score falling by an average of 78% compared to baseline levels (59.6; p < 0.0001). Combined clobetasol lacquer and topical tacalcitol therapy would seem to be an effective strategy for nail psoriasis (Regana, M.S. et al. J Eur Acad Dermatol Venereol 2008, 22[8]: 963-969). --> -->
