A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, right/left comparative study evaluated the effect of narrow-band UVB (NB-UVB) therapy combined with tacrolimus ointment 0.1% in 40 patients with stable symmetrical vitiligo. The patients were treated on one side with tacrolimus ointment and the other side with vehicle ointment. Whole-body NB-UVB was used 2-3 times/week for at least 3 months. The Visitrak® morphometric device assessed the area of the vitiligo lesions.
