54 - IMRAD structure
The International Committee of Medical Journal Editors determined four main headings to structure a scientific article: Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion. This is known as the IMRAD (acronym for Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion) structure. It is not simply an arbitrary publication format, but a direct reflection of the process of scientific discovery determined by the scientific method. However, if some sections are too lengthy, you may consider using subheadings.
