5 - Definitions: Emotional intelligence
Perhaps now, we are ready to define "emotional intelligence." It is the capacity to not only identify and control your own emotions, but also to identify and act upon those of others; that is, the intelligence to perceive facts and truths applied to emotion, the capacity to identify and know when a certain emotion is being felt, and to be under the effect of a state of mental agitation but, nonetheless, have the ability to control and appropriately direct it based on your own objectives.Likewise, as we become capable of understanding ourselves, we become able to understand others. From this perspective, we are able to have control over our own emotions and affect those of others.
