27 - The rules
CME providers and activities are highly regulated and they must adhere to numerous regulations from several entities in order to ensure that physicians are receiving the high-quality, scientifically based, objective and relevant education. Here we will only briefly explain some of the more important rules --which you will notice are all in line with and complement one another-- so as to help you understand what these mean for you in terms of the quality of the activities, and your responsibilities if participating in a CME activity. It is also important to note that these are U.S. regulations, but several CME systems in other countries or regions have similar regulations or recommendations.
