The ways that each person feels about themselves and others is known as "life positions." This deals with a value judgment that persists in adulthood, although it was decided in childhood, when the information was neither appropriate nor sufficient. Basically there are four life positions: "I'm not OK, you're OK"; "I'm not OK, you're not OK"; "I'm OK, you're not OK"; "I'm OK, you're OK."
