7 - The green hat
The green, or creative hat, is worn by a brain that is moving in an environment of fertility, growth and development, it uses lateral thinking, changes the rules, is provocative, open to new ideas, new concepts and new perceptions and has the ability to provoke at random and generate alternatives. There is a close relationship between the mechanisms of humor and those of lateral thinking, and they both depend on the rules of perception. In other words, the expressions we could identify with the green hat include: “How does this relate to what I already know? Could we do it differently? Why are these things done in this way? What’s stopping us from really liking it?” This attitude of constant questioning in order to resolve problems leads it to generate alternatives. We could define the green hat with the phrase: imagine with audacity and without borders.
